Distribution Coordinator

Distribution Coordinator - Glasgow - Salary up to £27,000 p/a 

Are you an experienced Distribution Coordinator? Do you want to join a leading Drinks business based in Glasgow? 

We are looking to speak to experienced distributions or logistics coordinators for a new role based with a global whiskey business in Glasgow. For this role you will be motivated, driven and collaborative! You will be responsible for continuously developing and improving the company strategy to deliver excellent operation. Supporting the Distribution manager, you will be responsible for communicating to wider business departments daily and acting as a key interface for various areas ensuring all customer and business needs are met. 

This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Glasgow. There is currently a hybrid working model in place which can be discussed. The salary for this role is up to £27,000 p/a DOE. 

 

Are you who we're looking for?

  • You have experience within a distribution, logistics or export background
  • You have knowledge of or experience working within the FMCG Industry (preferred but not required)
  • You are a strong communicator and able to manage all third party requests effectively 
  • You have experience utilising various systems daily
  • You have knowledge of international transport processes and procedures 
  • You are customer focussed and able to provide excellent service at all times 
  • You can manage your time and diary effectively to complete all tasks 
  • You enjoy building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

 

What is the day to day like?

  • Arranging transport for import/exports as well as internal movement of goods when requested
  • Liaising with hauliers to get quotes for the customer service team in a timely manner, when required
  • Communicating with new hauliers and setting them up ion the internal system 
  • Tracking deliveries to ensure OTIF service to internal/external customers
  • Ensuring all freight documents have been received accurately and shared with the wider team 
  • Organising last minute despatch requests
  • Completing invoice reconciliation and reporting
  • Investigating any returns, damages and missing item enquiries with clients and customers
  • Reporting delays for supplier performance requests
  • Acting as first point of contact for any internal and external escalations
