I am looking to recruit a Junior Buyer who has a conscientious and meticulous approach to their work and is looking to join a successful business in the Lanarkshire area.

 

What does the role look like?

  • To perform all tasks involved in the formation and administration of Project, Spares and Overhead purchase orders.

  • To effectively communicate with suppliers and colleagues to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure performance to contract agreement terms and compliance with client vendor approvals.

  • Identify opportunities to acquire goods to specification and within budget, exploring all opportunities to reduce budget costs while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.

  • Assist the Procurement manager in pursuing a worldwide sourcing strategy for key components.

  • Support Upstream Services in obtaining quotations, raising, expediting purchase orders. Manage the logistics of the Purchase Orders with the support of the shipping Co Ordinator.

  • information regarding changes in materials, lead times and supply situations

  • Forward forecasting of materials in line with call off period

  • Administers assigned purchase orders, performing the following functions:

  • Liaise with supplier’s representatives in discussions held to clarity order documents and/or specification requirements. Identities, defines, and secures agreement regarding potential changes.

  • Establish scope and effects on cost and schedule of agreed-upon changes.

  • Processes back charges

  • Conduct closeout review of the order.

  • Communicates with suppliers to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions.

  • Works with the Accounts Team in the administration of the Overhead Procurement Purchasing requirements and month end receipting
